Despite of the efforts being made to ensure literacy among all the children but socio-economic situation of many children is depriving education to them. So, this year we submitted a project proposal for empowering tribal girls of Kandhamal District of Odisha to ONGC.
The objectives behind the project are:
- To create a residential school for 580 disadvantaged girls with provision for completing elementary, secondary schooling along with vocational skill up gradation and health care facilities.
- To provide education, basic health care at one hand and vocational skill input in viable trade, sports and cultural facilities.
- To extend of specialized services to the needy including therapy, treatment, aid/appliances, technical and learning materials, special classes including special learning.
- To provide social education and campaign on issues regarding literacy, disabilities, caste, gender, dowry, human rights, child labour and allied local issues.
The project named “Construction of Hostel building at Shankaracharya Sanskrit kanyashram, Jaleshpatta, Dist- Kandhamal, Odisha”. We have been granted financial assistance of Rs.3,71,00,000 only towards the project cost. Fund disbursement will bemade installments through ECS based on the accomplishment of physical and social milestones as detailed in agreement.
We are utilizing the funds only for achieving the objectives and meticulously maintaining records of receipt and expenditure related to this project. After completion of the project we will submit ‘completion report’ with fund utilization certificate duly signed by our Chartered accountant. We are also maintaining activity cum progress report on usage of the assets created and will furnish the same to ONGC as requested.
